Healthcare & Welfare

This group works with sound tech innovation in the field of welfare and health, and looks at the development of solutions to increase the population's quality of life and state of health.

  • How do we diagnose, prevent and treat hearing loss, and what technologies are under development in this area?
  • How can we in the health care system use sound and music to alleviate somatic and psychiatric disorders?
  • What effect does noise reduction have on the physical and mental health of the population?

The following experts participate in the group:

  • Abigail Kressner (DTU)
  • Birger Schneider (Chamaj Consult)
  • Dorte Hammershøi (AAU)
  • Jakob Christensen-Dalsgaard (SDU)

Environmental Sound Solutions - Indoor & Outdoor

The group works on innovative solutions to reduce noise indoors and outdoors – in traffic, at work and at home. It also works to strengthen the focus on the role that acoustic conditions in buildings and urban environments play in sustainable urbanization.

  • How do we monitor, treat and prevent noise - inside and outside?
  • How can we improve noise reduction in renewable energy sources, e.g. wind turbines, heat pumps and ventilation systems?
  • How do we strengthen the interdisciplinary collaboration of acoustics in urban environments with the actors in construction that are traditionally outside the sound industry?

The following experts participate in the group:

  • Anders Olsen (Vibratec)
  • Birger Schneider (Chamaj Consult)
  • Birgit Rasmussen (AAU - CPH Building Research)
  • Cheol-Ho Jeong (DTU Electrical)

Creative Sound Solutions

The group's work focuses on how sound is included as a content, experience and communication element in digital media formats such as gaming, film, podcast, TV, music, radio, social media and digital streaming. The group's discussions involve both profiles from the creative industry and researchers from the field.

  • What is the latest sound technology development in Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, and in what (new) contexts can it be used?
  • How can technologies such as 3D sound, multichannel sound, AI and 5G be used to improve the sound quality and user experience?
  • How do we develop intelligent equipment to effectively improve the sound quality of audio products when demand is increasing but fewer hours are set aside to produce?

The following experts participate in the group:

  • Birger Schneider (Chamaj Consult)
  • Brian Slott Kristiansen (Danmon Group Systems A / S)
  • Cheol-Ho Jeong (DTU Electrical)
  • Eddy B. Brixen (ebb-consult)

  • How do we best integrate new software in different user scenarios to create a pleasant sound experience, for example?
  • How do we define good sound quality in the future?
  • What does good sound mean for the user experience when it is an integral part of a new technology?
  • Industry 4.0 technologies
