In this report, the Academy of Technical Sciences shows how well Denmark is doing in the technological race in a number of key technology areas. A race that is no longer just about competitiveness, but is also a question of security. Both for Denmark and the EU as a whole. The analysis consists of two sub-reports. The following pages map Denmark's current innovation activities within technological niches, which fall under 16 critical technology areas. The second sub-report, 16 critical technology areas, provides an explanation of how the 16 areas have been designated. Denmark's overall innovation ability within the 16 technology areas is benchmarked against the world's 30 leading technology regions. The analyses behind the report were prepared for ATV by the Danish Technological Institute.
