Network-Oriented Events & Project Manager at the Danish Sound Cluster
Help strengthen innovation and growth in the Danish audio industry! We are looking for a new member of our tight-knit team to help us make the Danish Sound scene the best place in the world to develop audio products, explore new ideas, do business, gain more knowledge, take training and start a company. The Cluster's most important "showcase" to the outside world, and most effective way to carry out professional knowledge-sharing, is our event series – this is where you come into the picture!
You will be responsible for:
- Planning professional events in the form of webinars and physical events in close collaboration with our 4 professional advisory boards
- Ensuring that all agreements are in place with speakers at the professional events, and be responsible for the execution of these by fulfilling the role of host and moderator
- Responsible for professional content at the annual "Danish Sound Day"
- Building strong professional relationships widely within the audio industry
- Establishing, recruiting for, and running 1-2 professional network groups; your task is to plan and facilitate the 4 annual meetings
- Participating in other activities in the cluster, depending on skills and motivation – eg communication, website, recruiting for innovation projects, helping with activities for startups, membership recruitment, etc.
- Communicating with all of our community members, from the academic researchers to the hands-on creators and entrepreneurs, both technical and non-technical.
Passion for good sound, communication and relationships
The most important thing is your motivation to work for a healthy and strong Danish audio industry.
Here is our additional wish list for our new team member:
You have an education in a technical area and you are not new to working with sound or audio in some way. You don't necessarily need a PhD in Acoustics – you may have acquired audio skills and technical know-how through your work experience or other activities. You have worked with innovation, perhaps from a role as project manager or consultant in the technical field. You feel good about reaching out to new contacts, connecting people and building relationships.
You are comfortable taking on initiator and facilitator roles – and understand that our role as a cluster is to support our members, who themselves implement projects, contribute with professional content, etc. You have experience with / desire to work with facilitating professional topics for a wider circle. You thrive in an environment with the presence of "professional geeks". The cluster works in Danish and English. You must be fluent in written and spoken English, and it is a great advantage for you to have some knowledge of Danish.
What we offer:
- Day-to-day spent amongst sound enthusiasts from companies, universities, startups, innovators, tech hubs and incubators, etc.
- The opportunity to plan your working day and shape your job role
- The chance to connect with a vast number of people and expand your personal network
- Effective administration and tools to plan, market and run events
- A supportive, good-humoured team who will help you get started with your new and exciting tasks – and perhaps take you to a jazz concert from time to time!
- Space to innovate, develop and grow – the sky is the limit!
- Lunch agreement with canteens at our office locations.
Starting in August 2023
Workplace in Struer or Copenhagen.

About the Danish Sound Cluster
The Danish Sound Cluster is the knowledge cluster for sound technology. We are a nationwide, member-based non-profit organization with partial public funding, and our overall purpose is to strengthen innovation and growth in the audio industry. Our activities consist of, among other things, spreading industry-relevant knowledge and experience at events and physical meetings in the sound environment. In addition, we initiate collaborative projects between research institutions and companies of all sizes, create programs for startups, as well as work with networks and matchmaking. We also collaborate internationally, as the industry is strongly globally oriented.
The team
Our secretariat is in Struer, and we also have offices in Hørsholm and Copenhagen. There is flexibility to work from home, but meetings with our members are highly prioritized. Twice a week we meet online to "check in", coordinate the day's tasks, interact with each other and follow up on any questions that have popped up.
Transparency and a high level of information are key concepts for us to succeed together in the diverse – and often new – tasks that are to be solved. You will meet a strong team, consisting of people with very different backgrounds, who are determined to succeed. There is plenty of room for you to add your skills to this team and help make your mark on the tasks and the community that we are building and growing continuously!
With presence, openness and curiosity, we work to strengthen the internal network for key players in the audio industry. Companies and knowledge institutions have confirmed that our listening and involving approach with our stakeholders creates high value – and that this value is both relevant and important for our own members and for the rest of the sound environment with which we work.
