Help us nominate relevant candidates for this year's sound award!

The Danish Sound Award is awarded in a collaboration between Struer Lydens By and the Danish Sound Cluster. The purpose of the Danish Sound Prize is to focus on Danish sound as an international position of strength as well as on the innovative companies and individuals that move the Danish sound environment.

The criteria for the Danish Sound Prize award

The Danish Sound Prize is awarded to one or more people. The recipient (s):

  • Has rethought the use and understanding of sound or in some other way further developed and thus contributed to maintaining Denmark's position as a leader in the field of sound
  • Can be a company, artist, knowledge institution, researcher or someone else who has made us see completely new paths in the use of sound
  • Can also be a company, artist, knowledge institution, researcher or someone else who has done something very special to put sound on the international map
Process for awarding the prize
  • Everyone has the opportunity to submit the names of the candidates who they believe should be nominated for this year's Sound Award
  • Names of candidates are submitted to mds@danishsound.org with a brief justification based on the criteria above
  • The board of the Danish Sound Cluster selects three nominated candidates based on the submittet candidates. One of these three selected candidates will receive this year's sound award. All three candidates are announced.
  • The deadline for submitting names to the Danish Sound Prize is 10th. October
  • The price is announced through platforms under Danish Sound Cluster, Lydens By and other relevant channels

Former recipients of the Danish Sound Prize

The Danish Sound Prize has been awarded since 2015. The Sound Prize has previously been awarded to:

    • Peter Lyngdorf, 2015
    • Flemming Madsen and Jan Voetmann, 2016
    • Peter Vuust, 2017
    • Jan Larsen, 2018
    • Torsten Dau, 2019
