In August 2020, ATV published the most comprehensive analysis of research and patenting activity in technology areas that are strategically important for Denmark, set in an international perspective. The analysis provides a picture of Denmark's technological strength measured according to a global scale. The conclusion is clear: Denmark's technological strengths are under pressure.
The report analyzes 11 technology areas which today are either directly included in current Danish business and innovation initiatives, or which are assessed to have strategic importance for Denmark's future competitiveness. By adding up the number of patents and published publications per capita and comparing it to the leading regions in the world, Denmark's strength ratio can be measured.
