Sound technology can increase the quality of life and at the same time create a more efficient health sector. With funds from the Ministry of Research and Education, Danish Sound Cluster has in recent years initiated a number of Innovation Projects for a partner circle of members, companies, startups and research in the intersection between sound technology and health. These have typically been smaller projects, but a good start. 

The level of ambition has increased and Danish Sound Cluster is now initiating a network activity starting in the 4th quarter of 2024 with a view to developing a larger project effort by bringing together a wider circle of companies, researchers and customer organizations within the field.

Purpose of the network and themes

The purpose of the network is to inspire the further development of new ideas and solutions in the intersection between sound technology and health. Solutions that can become good future business cases for the users, the healthcare system and thus for the industry.

Sound technology and the derived business models and processes can increase the quality of life and at the same time create a more efficient health sector – nationally and internationally. Examples on this:

• Remedy of hearing loss and its further development to help every fifth citizen of the world. Focus on the distribution, the experience for new users as well as derivative effects such as stigmatization and the increased risk of dementia.
• Sound and music create mental health. Turnover of the latest research that indicates that music and other sound therapy has a positive effect on a number of diseases, such as stress, dementia, Alzheimer's, ADHD, mental disorders, etc.
• Prevention against noise. The latest research points to heart/vascular diseases as a risk of long-term exposure to noise. Besides minimizing the noise acoustically, what preventive health solutions are needed to minimize the risk?

All network participants must of course help define and anchor the themes in the network themselves - the above is just for inspiration.

Audience

You and your company/organisation work at the crossroads between sound technology and health, cf. the themes above. Your own profile is probably within strategy, business or project development and you are looking for potential innovative collaboration opportunities.

The participants may come from competing companies that are also potential business partners. The network's culture will be: With joint efforts and knowledge sharing, we make the "pie bigger" - before we share it.

Network meetings
