Why Talent Attraction?

Danish Sound Cluster has established a "Talent Attraction" network to spread knowledge of the Danish sound ecosystem and the many opportunities for studies and future jobs. The goal of the network is to ensure long-term innovation by:

  • Increase the number of new students for the studies in sound/acoustics at the educational institutions.
  • Increase the number of new talents to vacant positions in the sound industry.

The participants at the network meetings are key people from the sound industry who work with, or have an interest in, Employer Branding, Recruitment, PR & Communication. Read more about the network here .

 Workshop agenda:

"How do we reach the target group of very young talents?
– and what is the common narrative in relation to them?"

The purpose of the workshop is to launch a new campaign with a focus on young people before studying, i.e. primarily high school and secondary school/elementary school - which will increase the long-term goal of more talent entering the audio industry - both in terms of education and jobs.

  • Welcome and what's new since last time.
by Jannie Schacht Halling Jensen, Talent Acquisition Manager, Demant A/S and Jens Nedergaard, Danish Sound Cluster
  • Workshop #1 – The network around previous efforts
All workshop participants talk about their previous efforts towards upper secondary schools/elementary schools – a kind of round table for inspiration (all participants have prepared this before the meeting).
  • How does Demant handle its communication with the target group?
by Trine Kromann-Mikkelsen, Vice President, Corporate Communication & Sustainability at Demant A/S
Short inspirational talk about Demant's communication approach both in general and towards the target group. Communication to the target group can be compared with communication to politicians – they might be indifferent, but become curious if the communication either hits their interest (e.g. music) or a very important theme(e.g. hearing/dementia)
  • Workshop #2 – The common approach and narrative towards the target group?
Together we create a common narrative for the target group of high school students. The workshop begins with a short introduction with inspiration/experiences in working with the target group by Lise Brennum, Engineer the Future.
    • What is the shared story and key messages, including key societal challenges, comparative competitive advantages, and DNA/authenticity/emotions?
    • What inspires/activates young people in 2025?
  • Lunch
Demant hosts a light lunch followed by a short company tour.
  • Workshop #3 – Specific activities
Together we will clarify specific joint activities for the target group based on the shared narrative and previous experiences, (The workshop will begin with inspiration/experiences/ideas from the House of Natural Sciences by Karina Esmine Fredbo.
    • Which channels? (video/cases/workshops/memo for school management, etc.)
    • Framework for activities: Umbrella or together? – Specific or broad?
    • What are the campaign's goals and success criteria?
    • Toolbox: Current talents as ambassadors? Existing cases? Science Day?
    • Resources and campaign funding – how can each of us contribute?
    • Should we set up a working group? – mandate for the development of material
  • Next meeting etc.
    Suggestions for future themes, etc.
