Enhancing Noise Regulation to Expand Weed Fighter's Customer Base

Project title: Enhancing Noise Regulation to Expand Weed Fighter’s Customer Base

Weed Fighter develops and produces innovative equipment for pesticide-free weed control, designed for use on tractors or implement carriers to treat larger fortified areas effectively.

A key operational challenge with the current equipment is noise generation. The system, powered by a generator driven by a hydraulic motor and regulated by a valve block, produces significant noise levels in both decibels and frequency ranges. This can create disturbances for operators and surrounding environments, especially in sensitive areas like residential neighborhoods.

For some users, the noise significantly impacts the working environment, while for others, such as housing associations, it can limit the equipment’s usability near homes. Addressing this issue is crucial to expanding the reach and applicability of our solutions.

To tackle this challenge, Weed Fighter is collaborating with Artlinco and SC Automatic. The project focuses on reducing noise disturbances through technical innovations and improved operational strategies. This includes enhancing noise reduction features in the equipment and developing usage plans that align with times of lower sound sensitivity.

The outcome of this project aims to not only improve the operator’s experience but also enable new customer groups to adopt our equipment in areas where noise currently poses a barrier to use.
