Program

Since 2008 the share of the population who has listened to a podcast within a three-month time span has grown from 6% to 40% and podcasting has become an integral part our media consumption today. But what does it really take to make a podcast?

While there can be many complicated answers to that Ruben Åeng from the Norwegian audio company Nomono will give a simple one with his highly advanced AI technology-based portable kit that gives you professional audio quality even in the most challenging sound environments.

“We are trying to make production of a high quality (audio) podcast as easy as the push of a button. Enabling people without audio knowledge to record a great sounding podcast anywhere.”

If you are already an aspiring or experienced podcaster you’ve probably heard of the audio editing software Hindenburg. Founder and broadcast radio expert Nick Dunkerley will explain some of the historical reasons why we have the radiophonic standards we have and why Hindenburg is trying to make life a little easier for the sound creative. To round things up Søren Brunsgaard from the member community Center For Podcasting will give his perspective on how you publish, market, partner with commercial brands and how you as an independent can engage with the podcast community in Denmark.

There will be a short Q&A to finish things off so make sure to have your questions ready.

Ruben Åeng

QA at Nomono

Holds a bachelor’s degree in film/TV audio production and has worked 12 years as a freelance Sound designer/Production sound mixer, where he worked on everything from Children’s TV drama to commercials, reality to documentary, short fiction (one which was Oscar Nominated – Best Fictional Short) to feature films (including a Danish feature – «De forbandede år»)

Family life was not that easy to combine with a freelance life, so I started looking for something a bit more predictable. That’s when Nomono reached out to me asking if I was interested in the QA role, which has evolved into something more than QA. I´m more like a potato, involved in everything from content production to designing new features in the cloud service. I have also had the responsibility of tweaking our processing pipeline and investigating the spatial possibilities.
