  • Team Sennheiser will discuss  the opportunities and challenges of 5G for the professional audio production industry (audio PMSE). The session will discuss recent technical developments, spectrum access options and the role of 5G within the migration trend towards IP-based workflows.
  • Jonas will share his experiences  and the challenges that come with using wireless equipment for large and complex live events, and his concerns for the future if a better solution isn’t found. 
  • Michael Pihl from TV2 will speak about how wireless technology affects workflow, budgets and efficiency for those working in TV. 
  • Morten Brandstrup will be our moderator for this webinar.

M. Dolores (Lola) Pérez-Guirao is a telecommunications engineer and holds a PhD Summa Cum Laude from the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hannover (Germany). She has a professional background of 18 years in the field of wireless communications and networks. She has been a researcher, co-founder of a technology start-up and consultant for wireless standards. In 2018 she joined the research and innovation team of Sennheiser, one of the leading manufacturers of PMSE equipment. She represents Sennheiser in several standardization working groups (3GPP, ETSI, DKE) and regulatory bodies (CEPT, BNetzA, ITU-R). Besides, she is an active member of 5G-MAG, contributing to the development of 5G for content production.

Dr. Jan Dürre received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Leibniz University Hannover in 2019. During his time at the Institute of Microelectronic Systems in Hannover, he focused on digital signal processing, networking and system design topics related to audio and video processing systems. In 2018 he joined the Research & Innovation Department of Sennheiser working in the Wireless Systems & Networks group on novel wireless and wired audio / audio-network applications and respective prototypes.

Norbert Werner, research engineer in Sennheiser’s wireless and network research team. He joined Sennheiser in 2015 after receiving his master’s degree in electrical engineering and information technology from the Leibniz University Hannover in Germany. His expertise is in the field of low latency audio streaming and wireless technologies. In this context Norbert has worked on multiple public-funded research projects like LIPS and 5G RECORDS.

Jonas Næsby is a technical application engineer at Sennheiser Denmark, and is responsible for the wireless equipment at some of the world’s largest and most complex live events. 

Michael Pihl has worked in TV for 27 years and leads the audio team at TV2. Needless to say, he has seen the developments in wireless technology over the past decades, and is working with wireless equipment on a daily basis.

Morten Brandstrup is head of News Technology at TV2 Danmark and will be our moderator for today.
