Danish Sound Day 2024

Sound & Acoustics in Architecture & Room Design
5 November 2024

Welcome!

We are thrilled to invite you to Danish Sound Day 2024 at the Royal Danish Academy. The conference will gather researchers, innovative tech experts, entrepreneurs and sound professionals from across the sound community. Join us for an engaging day of exploring sound and acoustics in architecture and room design.

It is well known that poor room acoustics and unhealthy sound environments can lead to serious health implications and cognitive impairment. However, despite years of research and WHO recommendations, acoustic consideration and implementation is often overlooked or underprioritized in design and building practice. Why is that the case, and what can we do to change it?

The Royal Danish Academy is the ideal setting for presenting leading voices in the field of acoustics, architecture and human sound perception. Besides talks and debates, there will be company demos, guided tours, startup & research pitch presentations and plenty of networking opportunities.

Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to connect with professionals from every corner of the sound field. We look forward to seeing you there!

Location:
Royal Danish Academy, Philip de Langes Allé 10, 1435 Copenhagen K

Acoustics & psychoacoustics

In this day and age there are many technologically advanced algorithms and AI tools to predict and simulate the acoustics of a room not yet designed or built, which can be helpful in the planning process. But are there any conflicts between calculating the acoustics and the actual experienced acoustics and affect the room will have on us?

Moderator Pascal Van Dort will question and investigate the correlation between acoustics and psychoacoustics.
