How has the use of product and brand sound evolved through the years, where are we now, and how will sound be used in the future? 

5x TED speaker and audio brand expert Julian Treasure will go through the history of audio in branding as well as “The 4 Effects of Sound” – how sound affects human beings. Go watch his TED talk on the topic, the sixth most viewed in the link in the bio.

CEO and Founder of Sonic Minds Karsten Kjems will give concrete examples of how to work strategically with sound design and will dive into two of his cases: The MitID app sound and the Jabra headset product sound. He will talk about what collaborating with clients mean for the creative process, how not to make noise with sound and how to be aware and conscious about sound.

Finally, Fredrik Hagman of Volvo will give a talk about how Volvo utilizes sound design in their cars. What to consider, when and why to put sound into an interactive experience, and most importantly, when not to. He will also elaborate on how to communicate with sound and how to nudge the user to interact as desired.

To wrap it all up we will have a panel discussion about sound and noise awareness, personalized sound, voice interface sound, the strategic importance of utilizing sound and what makes a sound pleasing.

Karsten Kjems, CEO and Audio Branding Specialist at Sonic Minds

Fredrik Hagman, Interactive Sound Designer at Volvo Car Corporation

London Taxi. With over 10 years in the business, Fredrik has led the
development of automotive UI sound design, from simple sinusoid buzzers to lush
interior ambient themes with a strong passion of conveying brand core values,
while creating the most useful and safe sound experience possible.
